Professional Accomplishments
Dr. Rives is a member of the American Economic Association, Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession, International Association of Feminist Economics, and the Missouri Valley Economics Association. Janet has been a valued member of the UNI Department of Economics since her arrival in 1984. Prior to her appointment at UNI, she held positions at Rutgers University and the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Janet is co-editor of the book, Economic Dimentions of Gender Inequality: A Global Perspective and has published articles in many journals including the Southern Economic Journal, Social Science Quarterly, Journal of Socio-Economics, Feminisht Economis, Regional Science Perspectives, and Applied Economics.
